I don't get it. I thought the reason they cut the best part out of a DS, the GBA slot, was because of size. I don't see at all why to bother buying something with less useful functionality for what I want it to do, which is playing games.

Without the Dsi you can't play the DSiware games and without the DS Lite/Ds Fat you won't be able to play gba games, you will lose some games in both cases.

Yes but are the ware games even coming close to what the GBA had? I'm honestly curious here.

For instance, both Golden Sun games are only on the GBA and those are the last JRPGs I actually liked, it was the puzzles they were totally awesome.

No, absolutely not, but there are some very unique games like Pictobits or Escapee Go! and I already have a list with 39 dsiware games/apps that I want to buy, so the service is really growing.

So that's what my answer was to the DSi, absolutely no. But back to my quesiton, if space was the problem, why doesnt the XL have a GBA slot again?

Probably because Nintendo wants to cut costs (the DSi has 2 cameras and better multimedia support). Also, some people will buy 2 DSs (one DS Lite for gba games and one DSi for DSiware and camera) = more money for Nintendo.

As for Golden Sun, it's one of the best RPGs ever (IMO) and it's coming from a huge RPG fan but I already finished Golden Sun 1/2 and most of the best GBA games. Don't get me wrong, I am a DS Lite owner, but I really want a DSi XL.
