| ithis said: Ok, I finally read the whole post. Well, the only thing clear is that you're angry. I don't know whether Sony dismissed the new markets that the Wii conquered. If they did, then I can understand that now, when seemingly they are all cuddly and warm with the "wii casuals", you're angry, and maybe they deserve it. But hey, what can you do. Companies adapt, or die. And this: "But Sony's motion games look at you and say: "Hey you! I know you're dumb so buy me! I've been made for silly people who don't understand what gaming is. People like you!""! It just seams silly. What if the people that build those Wii Sports like thing really care about that stuff? Why not think about them instead of dismissing their work because the "suites" lacked vision? |
You can pretty much tell there is not that much effort behind it just by looking at the types of sports they showed off. The sports were copied from Wii Sports Resort. That's quite obvious. Tennis would've been a way more obvious choice than table tennis for a sports game of this type but they still included the game that was also in Wii Sports Resort. Also that's what I mean with "without a soul". It looks more like Sports Island or Game Party to me (the whole appearance, not the art style). I take any bet Sony's developers would much rather create God of War 4 or Killzone 3 type of games.
Oh and to the people thinking I feel "insulted": I don't. I was laughing when I wrote that post because I imagined Sony talking to the "casual gamers" telling them they are worthless as consumers ("Wii owners don't buy any games. Their consoles are just dust collectors") and then, all of a sudden, doing a 180 and telling them "We want YOU. To Play our games". (Yes, Sony looks like Uncle Sam in this little daydream
)
I just said "I" in that post to make clear I am part of that audience. Otherwise everyone would've gone "you don't know anything about casual gamers! How do you want to know they'd react like that?"
