You (and some others around here, not sure about you) probably need to stop thinking he actually makes anything. He's a game designer, not a developer; he's to games what directors are to movies.
Him saying Metroid should go first person may mean he just said that in a brainstorm, which is worth next to nothing, or it might mean he was somehow involved in the game's concept design, which you know, is what he does.
Going back to your first post, you could probably have designed Halo, better than Miyamoto even, cause you evidently like it. Seriously, is there really that much to design in Halo?
