One of the things that struck me first after reading some comments from people watching yesterdays announcement was the response from Wii owners / fans.
The general feel of their response could be deduced as a "hate" towards Sony's new motion controller, calling it a rip-off, cheap man's WiiMote, stating it's imprecise, crappy looking and more.
I personally feel insecurity from these replyies, one thing that sets the Wii apart from the other consoles (except the great Nintendo game lineup ofc) are motion controls. Now Sony has them and they are very similar. Better or worse, doesn't matter (yet). This could threaten Nintendo by stealing slice of their customer base with decent marketing etc etc...
But don't forget there is likely one HUGE plus to that. Now we can expect many releases between Wii and PS3 as multiplatform, which could lead to the increase in quality of 3rd party titles. Which benefits everyone. Wii exclusive owners were bitching about lower quality "core" games from third party. Now this is your chance to actually get something better as a trade off for slice of your casual crowd customer pie.
So what's your take on this? Is it likely to see quality increase in motion controled 3rd party games? Is it likely for PS3 to cater to more casual audience and share some customers with the Wii? Will Sony's Move be better than WiiMotionPlus? Do you think PS Move is a rip-off from Wii Motion? Is the PS3 the Pachter's rumored Wii HD?
Sorry for the grammar, just woke up
