The iPod/iPhone/iMac were all doubted just like you're doubting the iPad. Go back to the archives and there was nearly identical criticisms. I'm not saying that the criticisms aren't valid, but Apple has a way triumphing despite all of it.
I'm not saying Apple will dominate, but you have to be silly to say they aren't one of the major forces in networked services.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
