I don't like IV at all in Pokemon games!

Yeah, but i definitely didn't play those games legitimately. Help from my friends with Game Sharks, and handy abuse of the Missingno. glitch. Same with Silver, but i used a Pelican Brain Boy to hack the hell out of things

Pearl is really the first pokemon i've played legitimately straight through.

So how exactly can i determine EV's and IV's? It seems like i would need to know at least one of those to solve the equation for the other (yay algebra).

Okay, think of them as being like genetic potential. Each stat has a number, 0-15, that determines how high a stat can be at its maximum with the largest amount of EV invested.

So i presume the I stands for "Initial" and the e stands for "Experience?" And that E is determined by how much exp you put into the level-up process? Or does E stand for "Earned?"
