maybe it could happen(probably won't) here's how the ps3 could sell that much
1)the console's price will continue to drop within the next five years making it more affordable for the average consumer
2)the ps3 is the best blu ray player on the market once HD is the standard in every household then blu ray is the next step...however standalone players will probably be cheaper
3) on second thought I don't think it will reach those numbers lol
-the ps2 was so successful because of dvd and exclusive games
-microsoft has stolen those exclusive games and they are now multiplatform which is why at the end of the console cycle we are going to see ps3 and 360 sales probably only separated by around 3-6 million probably in favor of the ps3
