If Nintendo is to maintain the console domination in the next gen, it will have little or nothing to do with HD. What they need is another disruptive gaming technology that will reach out to a new base of non gamers and ex gamers, that will differentiate themselves from the competition. They also need the software to support this new hardware well, making new types of games, but also sticking true to their old franchises as well.
