He's not referencing you, he's referencing the line you posted, and how it shows the importance of punctuation. The same exact words, with different punctuation, gives the sentence a different meaning. You clearly know what you meant, and your use was correct to get across what you were saying. However, by switching things around in the example Truck gave, it would say that you are usually (but not always) straight, and that you wear briefs (as a statement). Though again, he's not talking about "you", persay, but the general 3rd party you.
