I do think however that many in the industry may have that same opinion, as proved by the lack of real AAA 3rd party games on the wii, but no many would say anything because of the back lash they may get from the core gamers, which in reality he's not even targeting, the casuals which he is targeting go oblivious to this fact as they are not into the gaming culture and in some ways prove him right as they are the ones doing exactly what he's said, so it's more of an observation than anything else. I know however that comments like this will enrage certain people here bringing a shit storm with it, almost feels like gyarados used Surf XD well that's my opinion at least. |
How can you say this when you are posting on a sales site. It's easy to check video game sales for the Wii on VGchartz. If you did you'd see that the casual gamers are buying games. Wii Fit plus has sold over 10 million units, EA's Sports Active is closing in on 3 million units sold, Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics well pass the 3 million mark in a few weeks, Just Dance is fast approaching the 2 million unit served mark, and Carnival Games has almost sold 4 million units. These are just a few of the "Casual" games that are selling exceptionally well on the Wii. These sales also disproves what this guy from DICE is saying. Consumers do not buy games to just not play them. What would be the point in that?

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
