Yeah, I see what you mean. They should have made it easier to stay insane. Once you learn how to work the magic system and how to make the spells you need, it becomes even harder to stay insane.
Also, it would be cool if the effects would have impacted game play a bit; like having you walk -off a cliff or something.
Oh- but I forgot that when you where insane it started leeching away your health too.
At the same time, I was taken by surprise most times because a lot of the time you are searching the mansion for something and then you character just ups and shoots herself in the head- so for a second your like "WHAT!?" and then you get the Game Over Screen. You start to realize but for a second- for a second.
