theprof,

Since late 2007 Nintendo has had a (fairly) consistent strategy not to release any significant details about games until they’re within months of being released; and with the success they have received from most of their franchises that have used this strategy it is unlikely to change. Even though we have limited details of games like Super Mario Galaxy 2, and haven’t seen The Legend of Zelda, it doesn’t mean that Nintendo won’t release these games in 2010.

I understand that. It's just that something feels different. I'd be inclined to agree if there was something, anything. But right now, it's just what iwata said in a newspaper. Not even the financial projection mentions it. It only says "zelda will be at e3".

Even Miyamoto seems unsure about exactly what the Zelda game will consist of. He mentions some changes and new ways to control stuff and hinted at M+, but even then it sounded like they were still testing out a bunch of ideas. Even the concept art is wrong. No pictures, no nothing. In fact, the only big game that even remotely resembles the 2010 prediction of e3->release, was nsmbwii, and I don't believe the scope is the same. I think Zelda is far more complex than that.

Like I said, it's just my opinion, but Nintendo has repeatedly stated that it is better to delay than rush it out and it seems like they're a little bit further behind than they're making it out to be. Of course, they're not making it out to be anything, they can rely on saying something rather vague and it being taken for good news. That is all.

I hope it does come out and proves me wrong, but right now I can't shake the feeling that it's not going to make it.
