...And I can't show actual attach rates and sales for Europe and other markets because there simply is no data out there to aquire. But for all intents and purposes: Can you explain where the remaining software units are? I can't. The only data outside of VGcharts and other public domains is from Nintendo's 12:31:06 release on tier ratios: Total Japan US Other Wii-Console 3.19 1.14 1.25 0.80 Wii-Game 17.51 4.33 9.02 4.16 Tie-Ratio 5.5 3.8 7.2 5.2 Now, we know from NPD data that the Wii sold somewhere near 7m s/w units in November/December. The J-numbers could be/probably are accurate. The "other" data is the only data we really have. If Nintendo doubled their sales there (which I believe they did according to their last report), then we could assume, at best, the games sold would be at max, 8.5m units. Still, 10.2m US sales via NPD + 5.5m MC/Famitsu + extrapolated 8.5m from Europe (12:31 data x 2, which is generous) we still get under 25m software units. This again, leads me to believe that Nintendo is either including something such as VC titles, or shipped titles. I don't think VGCharts is inaccurate enough to misconstrute the NPD and their own homebrew data to give such an amazing discrepancy vs. Nintendo. So there are my arguments, where are yours?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
