We've got a marketing department running a videogame company, and there is one thing that a marketing exec will never understand. In the end it's about the quality of your product. No matter how well you market it, if it's shit, your success is unsustainable.

When Activision loses people behind their best games, their lineup might turn to shit, and not caring about that just because you're successful enough already is a blunder.

Nintendo, and to a lesser extent Sony and even Microsoft wouldn't go this far. At the very least they have an image to upkeep of not being complete assholes, but Activision apparently doesn't care about its image.
