While I was skeptical I bothered to go throught the thread, again, and John is correct.  In a later post he says,

'I need to clarify that post because it can interpreted in too many ways.

I submit that Wii Fit's 1st week in Japan will match and surpass Halo 3 1st week worldwide (there's no question about Wii Fit beating Japan's Halo 3 total).

And for further confirmation I submit that when all 1st week regional launches of Wii Fit are tallied up WITH the 1st week Japan figure that it will underline the trumping of Halo 3 saleswise.

I really wanted to say Wii Fit 1st week worldwide beats Halo 3 1st week worldwide but the launch dates are staggered. In all truth this is my source statement only adjusted to reflect the realities of the staggered launch.'

So while John was DEAD WRONG on Japan > Halo WW, he may save face by being correct on WW 1st week Wii Fit > WW Halo 3 1st week.

Personally, I have always agreed with John in principal but often not in practice (IE: Wii could sell 500m, but won't).  At the time I said he was wrong on Japan > Halo WW due to Nintendo having neither the capacity nor balls to produce that many WiiFit boards.  I now submit the same is true for WW sales launch as well.   But I still hold, that John is right. WiiFit WILL be a force to be reckoned with unlike anything seen prior. And people here will soon be saying 'It shouldn't be counted 'cause it's not a VG' and they'll be half-right.
