this poll fails.... you put england and argentina but not Italy... wtf? they are the defending champions and if you go by wins it goes
5 brazil
4 italy
3 germany
you just fail with this poll

(i'm french)

and england has always been england, what are you talking about in your op???

Here's an idea: Shutup.

Being the defending champion means very little in a competition where no team has won twice in a row in nearly 50 years. So unless your polls are better, don't complain. Oh wait, you don't make polls.

You fail.

So you think that England (Who won the World Cup in 1966) and Spain (Who actually never even reached the finals) have a better chance at winning this years World Cup than Italy (Who were in the finals 6 times and won 4 of those AND is the defending champion)? Seriously, you tell Hephaestos to shut up, but come on...Italy should've been up there.

I can imagine that you chose Spain, though, since they won the European Championship in 2008. So, the main complain i have with this list is England. Without a doubt Italy should've been up there instead of England. Hell, even France deserves a spot on that list more than England does. France reached the finals 2 times in the last 3 World Cups and they even won in 1998.

Of course, nobody knows who will win the World Cup this year, but 4 countries should ALWAYS be on lists like this: Brazil, Italy, Argentina and Germany. You got 3 of them right, but you missed a VERY important one...

You fail on so many counts its unbelievable.

Just because Italy won it 4 years ago means nothing. They have a completly different line up as all their players were old then. They have performed very badly in the last 4 years as well. Who cares if they have won it 3 times previous to that? How many of their players from the triumph in the 80s will be playing in the next few months?

To say Spain haven't won the world cup is irrelevent. They have the best first 11 in the world have just because they didn't win in the past is a stupid argument. They havn't had the best squad like this in the past.

France have been playing poorly as well. If you remember correctly you would be aware that they were VERY lucky to qualify. Beating Ireland by the use of a hand. Along with a very poor/disasterous qualifying round that almost resulted in the sacking of their manager.

England on the other hand in the last year were the most impressive team in qualifying for the Euro 2011 and have scored goals for fun in a relatvily (compared to France and Italy) young squad showing that they will only improve.
