I'm pretty optimistic. The biggest knock against it seems to be that it's extremely linear, but so was FFX and it was amazing. The battle and leveling systems sound fun (anything that resembles the Sphere Grid gets three thumbs up from me), and FFXIII easily has the most graphics of any JRPG to date... probably almost as many as Heavy Rain! So I expect I will like it very much.
That said, it's not FF6 so it won't be my favorite.
