Best Racing Game: none (didn't play any, unless Sonic somehow counts, which it shouldn't)

Best RPG: none (haven't got Fire Emblem yet, I don't consider SPM an rpg)

Best Action/Adventure Game: Mario Galaxy

Best Platformer: Mario Galaxy

Best Party Game: Wii Play

Best Sports Game: Madden 08

Best Virtual Console Game: Mario Lost Levels

 

Game of the Year (all genres): Mario Galaxy

Turd/Letdown of the Year: Madden 08

 

For the record, I think this is too early for yearly awards. Unlike pro gaming sites and mags, we probably haven't been able to play all of the games that we want this year. Worthy games like Galaxy, Fire Emblem, Z&W, Umbrella Chronicles, and some others haven't been out that long. With the rush of games in the last few months of the year, it's hard for the average person to afford and play all of them, then give a decent voting in these categories. Nights hasn't even been released yet, and won't be eligible next year...so maybe something like this should wait until January.
