Not by a long shot. Heck, you can't even use half the powers in the Prime series based on the fact its only in First Person. But more accurately, eventhough the Prime games are still fun, they're not true Metroid games. In the sense of how you explore areas, control Samus and use her suit.
That's why this game looks to be such a big deal. Because Sakamoto (creator of Metroid) is finding a way to truly make it so you can control Samus in a fully 3D environment and still have the 'Metroid experience'. In other words, the speed and accuracy of a Metroid game like the 2D Metroids, but in a 3D game. Something they couldn't do on the N64 or even the GameCube (which is why they chose to go with the first person perspective).
I mean, we've already confirmed a number of things you couldn't do in Prime such as the Power Grip, flipping while jumping, dashing, etc. All these things will most likely lead to Samus once again using all her past abilities, in both first and third person. And I for one am stoaked.
