While ME2 on PS3 would be great for PS3 owners, you're only getting part of the game if you don't play the first installment and import the save. It's THAT important to how emotionally involved you become within the universe.
Really, if you want to feel the full weight of the series, beg/borrow/steal a 360 or PC.
