Downloading directly to your SD card...

Even when you play directly from your SD card you have to have enough room available on your Wii's onboard memory to copy it over to for the duration of play

And this would have to be a big-ass SD card, even ignoring that

They must devise a way around it, then... but I don't think they will.

And yeah, big-ass is correct.

If you have softmoded your Wii you can allready put full retail games on your sdcard and play them so it wouldn be impossible for Nintendo to do it but I highly doubt it.
