"It's got to be frustrating for [Conduit dev, High Voltage]," he added. "Gamers will see the flaws, not your work. They're not going to see all the effort you put in. Any developers working on the Wii, I recommend you stylise the look because it helps. I think it looks cool anyway."

Now speaking solely of the graphics and not the rest of the game, I agree. It's annoying that only stylistic games are allowed to be good looking on the Wii. Super Mario Galaxy doesn't really do that many more polygons, texturing, and effects than Conduit or Crystal Bearers, and they both beat the pants off of Madworld, but because they tried for the style done on the HD systems, they are overlooked despite the numbers they pull on the system. Again, I'm only discussing the graphics, not the rest of the games.

It shows many don't really analyze graphics in games, or else they would realize how many games actually push their respective systems, just in different ways.

"Cherry picking a game that did not sell well as an excuse to say that realistic graphics will not work for the Wii is stupid when better selling games have proven otherwise."

His context was more the criticism of the game than sales.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
