MotorStorm 2 was made in a bit over a year and a half (March 08 > October 09). That just goes to show that at minimum two year dev times for big budget ps3/360 games are a must this gen. This makes me wonder why so many people want to see Killzone 3 at the end of this year. Especially with all the rumors backing up the idea, I can't help but fear the game would befall a similar fate to Pacific Rift, as it'd be following a similar dev cycle. Unless it's true that they had just about finished the game by October or so, and Sony simply delayed it for marketing reasons, in which case a Killzone 3 could very well manage that two year minimum. But even then... Also, given the studio's recent restructuring, the fate of the Wipeout guys is still unknown. =( |
Well they certainly had plenty of polishing time. If they don't focus on the engine at all, as it is still the best looking shooter, as they are a large studio (around the same size as Insomniac I think). They also don't need to do much with the multiplayer, just a better single player
