Well except that it seems that the article writer doesn't comprehend the pokemon games. Pokemon is not a continuous story. It is not a chapter story. It is not an RPG in the sense of other RPGs. Pokemon games are targeted at new players, seasoned players. By time these players hit the later iterations the games stop being designed for them. That's why Pokemon games don't change. They are not meant to. They are meant to bring new people into the pokemon world

Pokemon is using the Disney tactic. Appeal to young. Trying to be popular during the teens and early twenties, but when they are parents. The parents buy for their kids thus repeating the cycle. This is Pokemon. Anyone assuming anything more from Pokemon other than it's simple enjoyment is just sorta stupid.

I stopped playing Pokemon after Silver. So I played for 2 iterations. I'm done. I know the others after are the game. I know they are not made for me. They are made for my daughter. Who guess what, loves Pokemon.

Except that's still not true. Pokemon is made for kids and for the competitve gamers. The people who bitch about it rarely have a modicum of knowledge of the competitive metagame. Pokemon is incredibly deep.

People asking Pokemon to completely rewrite the formula into some 3D console action game might as well ask for Street Fighter to become a Zelda clone.

the thing it's that they release 2 games next to each other with minor differences,it does feel like cash in, sounds are reused, certain cries of pokemon are from the red/blue/yellow era.

i think pokemon can be 3d mmo type of game, but that would require "effort", it wouldn't be as kid friendly, but certain different that portable version are used too.

The two games are two versions... it's hardly the only game to ever do that. The point of Pokemon for kids is that it's a social game. Two versions are released so kids can trade with their friends to catch them all.

No sounds at all are still used from the red and blue versions. In fact no sounds are even used from GSC. Some are used from RSE, but you try and record a completely unique battle cry for 493 Pokemon on a handheld game. The amount of storage space that would use alone would be ridiculous.

You really shouldn't discuss something you know absolutely nothing about.
