Lazy people don't create 17 accurate calendars. Their calendar ends on the very day that we are at the equator or the Milky Way. Maybe you feel the Mayans just got lucky. The transition will at the very least be significant for some. Kind of like a New Years resolution. Some people experience a change in their life, others will find more of the same.


 Haha, no, I mean they just figured they could just make another calendar when it was needed.  Would you sit their and keep making new calendars if it was needed in our current system that go up in the dates 3000 years from now?  I think they figured there was no point at the time so they just stopped at a good stopping point.
