The graphics in Reach's split screen mode blow away those in Killzone 2 - you can't even see players 2-4!

Seriously though, Halo: Reach doesn't need to look as good to be more impressive. The fact is, KZ2 was made for the sole purpose of pushing the graphical bar. Halo games are made to be the best multiplayer shooter experience you'll find. Is Reach likely to beat KZ2 in overall looks? I'd say no (though it's outdoor environments are likely to be more impressiive). Why? Not 360 limitations, but there's only so much you can do when making sure your game can do split screen Coop, or 4 screen multiplayer. Reach will be more impressive, but KZ2 sacrificed these capabilities to offer the highest tier of graphics. Halo Reach won't beat those graphics (probably) but it will be the better game, and sales will reflect that.

I agree with everything you said.

i think and hope killzone 3 will solve that

KZ2's engine isn't even made to allow splitscreen. They're either going to have to make another new engine, and another 3-4 year dev cycle, or shoehorn it in. Either way, it's either going to be next gen, or sacrifice it's graphics a bit to achieve it.
