And I have to disagree that wars are fought away from civilians.  I don't think you have to look too far back in world history to see examples of wars fought in the middle of massive, populated urban centers.

 

 And I think that the aesthetic of many of the settings in KZ2 are distinctly urban and even a little suburban.  It's not too much of a stretch to add the wrinkle of non-combatants to the game.

i understand what you are saying (it's also cool) but that still sorta fits as an NPC like fallout.

also wars arent fought in populated areas they are faught in secluded areas. it's a war crime to kill civilians or put them in a line of fire. dont get it twisted with what the nazi's did or what terrorist are doing. U.S forces try to take the battle else where or if they cant try to control the threat without hurting civilains for example. also what the americans did in ww2 to two japanese cities is considered as a war crime by most
