A huge reason for this is that SONY over the last fifteen years have bought a numbers of smaller studios to form 1st party and 1.5 party studios. They have a steady stream of exclusives tricking out every few months. The same isnt true about MS. Which is a kinda strange coz all the greats have had their own IP's and studio's( Ninty,Sega,SONY). Hence the need to "outsource" their own exclusives through these deals.

SONY is in a tight corner financially and isnt likely to let these things bother them. They havent really lost games altogether. Those titles have simply gone multiplat- which makes sense- a lot of these titles are HUGE IP's- DMC,Tekken,FF. 3rd place PS3 doesnt guarantee as much sales as 1st place PS2 did a few years ago.

Its really all about the money....

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
