Oh dear, I love the damage control going on in here. It seems everyone who said "The PS3 is not having supply issues!!!" is here trying to convince people that Sony themselves are wrong about their own products supply issues. Give it a rest people. It has supply issues, period!

My take on this is that the underestimated the demand of the PS3 a bit, nothing more, nothing less.

It has a small supply issue in one country, bucket loads everywhere else.

And even in the US, if you really want one you can find one.

How is this incorrect?

I'm not saying it's not. But there are obviously supply issues in certain parts of America, and believe me, people are not going to travel 100 miles to buy a PS3 if their local stores do not have one. Here, where I live, GameStop only has refurbished PS3's available for sale (I have not checked Walmart, etc). And, it's mostly the 120GB model which is facing supply issues, because apparently the 250GB model can be found, it's just that people don't want to be the 50 dollar difference.

online retailers...

Yes yes, but, there are people who don't like online retailers. =/ Believe it or not, there are people who don't even like email.

The point is, Sony themselves they are having supply issues, and that they are struggling to keep up with demand. Now, if you know more than Sony about their own supply, please email them and point to the thousands of PS3's they have in storage that they have apparently forgotten.
