Probably because the Wii version looked, sounded and played like shit.  Pop'n fans were a little outraged over it.  Wii certainly has no problem selling quality music games as evidenced by Taiko (which never even broke 100k on PSP btw).

Exactly! The Wii version was totally different and not even really Pop'n, IMO. I'm a big Pop'n fan and I didn't buy it. I bought the PSP game and it's more like an actual pop'n game, though I wish Konami had released it on the PS2 instead so I could actuallyuse my damn pop'n controller.

I dunno what Konami was thinking... they should've followed Taiko's lead and done a full franchise installment with a dedicated controller bundled in.  They probably could've had a 105k lifetime seller rather than a 5k lifetime seller. :/
