Well the Movie industry still hsa a few tricks up their sleeve they can pull.   Like start to delay the DVD releases.  Thatl can quickly start to move people away from DVD.

They could... and probably already WOULD if it wasn't for the times.

If they were the Clinton years they'd probably be forcing people over left and right... but with the economic downturn... not the time to be messing with your cash cow.


Agreed,  there is always a little backlash that follows a move like this,  and the decreased sales would hurt Sony more than the removing of DVD support would help.   So thy will stick it out until the marketshare rises a little more by the end of the year and we may start to see a drastic move hear and there.  But I still do expect a few blockbuster titles this year to have Blu-ray exclusive releases, with the DVD release coming weeks later.
