Some people bought a Wii for Wii Sports, and some didn't. It doesn't really matter if we're talking about third parties ability to sell Wii software. Its not like Wii's software attach rate is unusually low for this point in its cycle, its just that 360s has been unusually strong. Wii obviously has some catching up to do. No one thought it would catch 360, especially in NA, within the first 6 months. It just has to be competitive now, and have caught 360 by the time PS2 stops being the primary money-maker for third parties. That gives Wii a good window yet. Its not sitting as pretty as it is in Japan, but considering how 360 is selling, its in good shape.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
