You u can exaggerate numbers and no you won't end up like enron.that only happens when you do it alot.many companie's have exaggerated alot in the past.

Well, you can stuff the channel, but you usually pay for it the next cycle.  See 360 in late 2006 (to hit 10m), or PSP in late 2005/early 2006 (to keep pace with DS).

Still, it doesn't look like MS is channel stuffing now.

yeah but they haven't sold to consumer 39m by any chance

Sure, but I don't believe Microsoft ever said they have?

they did at ces and in their recent financial report

If they actually said they SOLD to CONSUMERS 39 million. Then I believe them. Shareholders and certain laws are in place to protect them against making stock decisions based on company lies. M$ legal department will know this.

many companies do it again and again.only the ceo knows what exactly is happening.they would just minus 2m shipments from the next quater's figures and be done.that happens alot.

and no MS didn't say shipped to consumers but you can't have 2m extra units on the shelves too.so most probably they are bluffing or they overshipped and not alot of consumers bought them.

whereas sony said they shipped 31m and they sold 31m in last quarter as figures show.there is a proof, there were PS3 shortages in dec itself

Can you post a link to any shortages? I knew of none. Also Sony never said anything that I ever read. PS3 was easily available. If 31m is shipped, then we definately have PS3 sales wrong on this site.
