I know a lot of people who are not Nintendo fanboys or anything and think the Wii is the only truly "next-gen" system. After all, what did the 360 and PS3 do that was new? No difference in control whatsoever (if you look at the previous generations, every one had a difference in control from the previous generation, and the Sixaxis doesn't count since virtually every game that uses it sucks in that aspect. The only one I can think of that doesn't is Motorstorm). The only difference is the power. They're just better versions of the last gen.

Meanwhile, the Wii is also a better version of the last gen. Granted, not as much better than the PS3 or 360, but it also throws in another thing - yet another true evolution in controls. And a very big one, too.

I'm not saying this is my belief. I think they're all "next gen" in their own ways, but you have to think about it. Every generation has always done something different than just looking better. The fact that the Wii didn't do that as much as the competitors is just one aspect that the Wii lacks out of a dozen that it flourishes.
New controls > everything else?
