I believe they set it up that the "new" console given to you in the event they cannot fix the old one has everything transferred including memory of what VC games and how many points you have. You can just go and redownload them, if you have your VC linked to a MyNintendo account even in the event they messed this up(they did with me) you call Nintendo they'll have a Tech call you back within 2-3 days and it'll be done in a mere moment. I called the tech back directly via the extension she left when I was unable to get the phone during her call and called back, literally the moment I verified I had my wii on to her and the product code and it was up by the time I got the Wiishop channel to connect(about 10 seconds) so fast... and easy lol
