... just wanted to post an update, now that I've had a Wii for 3 weeks:

Pointer offset / latency is not an issue at all, fortunately :) Must have been my friend's setup.
I'm really happy with the Wii, overall. Took my time with Mario Galaxy, but now I've got all 120 stars. My family loves Big Brain Academy, they play it every day.

3 things I noticed:
- I bought a component cable and was surprised to find that, on a HDTV screen, it's a mixed bag... Colors are better, everything is sharper, but the downside is that alias and jaggies are much more visible. Maybe I'll switch back to composite.
- The one thing I'm really unhappy with is Virtual Console. I downloaded Zelda II, for it's the only Zelda I never finished. But the emulation feels sooo slow and unresponsive. Haven't tried the GameCube pad yet, maybe it's because of the wireless connection. But if Nintendo don't fix that, it's a huge disappointment for me.
- Every now and then, the disk drive makes funny noises when I put a game in. Then it unsuccessfully tries to mount the disk for a minute, and then I get an error screen. It happened with every game, almost once a day... so I guess I'll have to replace my Wii. Will I be able to re-download the channels I already bought?

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
