just noticed PSP is doing very well isn't it

not the GO but the normal sku

DS and PSP both are languishing imo, while Wii and PS3 have managed decent improvements recently.  I sort of wonder if handhelds declining correlates directly with consoles improving?

But yeah, I'm starting to think we're going to see DS2 and PSP2 in Japan by year's end.

These are last years sales in the same time period, ONLY DS has fallen YOY actually (out of PSWii & PSP DS)

Hardware

Console Weekly Total
67,460 (+7%) 25,819,014
42,955 (+8%) 11,603,443
24,093 (-8%) 7,779,436
16,923 (-5%) 2,841,204
7,398 (+1%) 921,481
5,943 (+5%) 22,826,338
Total 164,772 (+3%)

Yeah, but DS was still riding the DSi high last year and PSP had a big release (Radiant Mythology 2).  LL did okay, but hasn't pushed hardware sales nearly as much.

Here's Famitsu for last year this week...

  • DSi 48,506
  • PSP 42,393 (TOTW: RM2)
  • Wii 24,795
  • PS3 16,066
  • DSL 13,965
  • 360 7,033
  • PS2 6,286

...and 2008...

  • Wii 105,570 (Smash Brawl)
  • DSL 65,488
  • PSP 50,331
  • PS3 36,087 (DMC4)
  • PS2 10,584
  • 360 5,084
  • GBm 335
  • GBASP 197

...and for the hell of it, 2007...

  • DSL 190,116 (wtf?!)
  • Wii 81,381
  • PSP 36,354
  • PS3 21,028
  • PS2 18,826 (GTA SA)
  • 360 7,369
  • GBm 1,201
  • GBA SP 1,101
  • DS 424
  • GC 283

wtf @ 2007

so Ps3 is below its 2008 sales
