I smell boring gameplay. Never played any MH game before but every video I've seen, including this one, shows something that looks like uninspired action fights against many different beasts, with the player always swinging their sword several times while trying to escape the counterattacks. Is there more to the fights, or do I just have to suffer through them for something better that the game has to offer? And why don't they ever show that special something in the videos? The graphics look amazing but I don't really care if the gameplay is not fun.

I would actually like to buy the game in that Classic Sontroller Pro & Wii Speak Pack, but I don't want a boring game to come with those things. Someone PLEASE explain why should I be interested in this game. I really want to be, I hear the franchise is big in Japan. But why is that?

I've played freedom 2 for quite some time and there is a lot more than just hitting things.

The game actualy features weapons that behave differently, including projectile weapons that must be aimed in first person view and different weapons have very very pronounced strengths and weakness

second the action requires the "hunting" aspect, you have to use things like traps, baits, and tags to catch the prey your looking for

third the action requires quite a bit of preparation and resource management go in without enough supplies, the wrong supplies, or improperly dressed and the hunt becomes a lot harder or impossible

there are also non hunting aspects in the mission such as gathering nessecary materials

outside of the action there's the resources game in which you have to do things such as maintain supply like a mine and a farm.

the online wii tri has appeal in that the game is brutally difficult alone  but hunting in a group allows for players to arrange themselves to cover each others weaknesses
