Yes, there are fanboy meltdowns. But it's much more than that! It's about reliability of VGC data now. 2mil 360's in shelves?? Is that normal? Ps3 overtracked by 1.1mil despite Sony seeming to be amazingly happy with sales? If you look closely, most data was adjusted from "Others" region. Which, if you think about it, is the one region where VGC really doesn't have a larger organization to compare its data with (as far as I know). For example, when NPD and MediaCreate usually release their data, VGC adjusts accordingly if they have to. But in Others region, VGC does not have that. So basically, from what I can see, Others region is pure guesswork?? I'm confused. |
so yeah, what exactly do these adjustments mean? do they mean this site can't rely on their own numbers and have to be constantly readjusting to other sources' data? And how do they readjust exactly? do they just take a couple of months and shave off some of their numbers until the match they "real numbers" ? Isn't that admitting this site numbers are bullshit? There shouldn't be any "adjustments" at all, this looks bad, very bad.
