But the two ways it could beat Final Fantasy is by not competing directly, perhaps by having a different (and wider) appeal, as Dragon Quest does, or by being disruptive. Ie. by abandoning one of the core values of Final Fantasy that is keeping it back in favour of a new value. It would be like NSMB Wii disrupting 3D Mario by abandoning 3D and adding the new value of simultaneous multiplayer.
