I had both my PS3 and my 360 brick on me, but I was only pissed off when my PS3 broke. I really felt like damn, it finally happened to me. I remember thinking I guess RRODs are not a myth just like the OP had.
I was so mad when my PS3 went belly up cause I never play the thing. The 360 gets close to 99% of my gaming time. I only use my PS3 as a movie player. I was not mad on the RROD because I had played to so much. Plus you get a basically brand new 360 out of the deal. You just have to go through the pain of getting all you DLC again to be able to play it offline.
