And why would they want to reincarnate a console that's success couldn't live up to its predecessor?  

 

People who expect them to follow the revolution-evolution cycle, miss that it was not an intentional "rule", or "plan" at all.  From the SNES to the Gamecube, they were only using sustaining innovations because they were unable to start a new revolution. 

Any evolutionary, or "sustaining innovation" console is already a failure in a certain sense, a failure at expanding the market, as they only appeal to a segment of their previous users, to those who want bigger, better, and more of the same.
