Does Pachter actually know anything about gaming? I say this because his assumptions of "hardcore" gaming appears to be titles like MW2 and its ilk. As far as i see it, although they have their "hardcore" players, i would say for the most part, these type of games are mainstream, maybe, even leaning towards "casual", especially given the advertising blitz they receive. What he should have asked was whether "blockbuster", high budget, high quality 3rd party games could be successful on the Wii, although we may never know the answer to this question as 3rd parties never release those on the Wii. I agree with the earlier post in this thread, saying that the COD's and GTA's of this gen are more mainstream than hardcore.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!
