Several developers have admitted that the Wii/DS games are the most profitable for them, and that the large development costs of Xbox 360/PS3 games mean that only the best titles of the year actually make money. The break-even (!) point for MGS4 is 1,000,000 copies on day one.
Therefore they are using the profits from ripping off (effectively) Wii owners to pay for "flagship" PS3 and Xbox 360 games.
What you can do is not buy titles if you don't think they are worth it. It's called capitalism.
