I even had to quit the game halfway through the Luigi playthrough due to a lost of interest (but I did eventually finish it, unlike Sunshine which I traded back before getting all 120 shines). Galaxy was a great one time experience, but I would have regretted my purchase if not for the fact I picked it up for 30 dollars on sale.

Mario 5, on the other hand, is still a blast months after release (both solo and multiplayer). Unlike Galaxy, I found myself replaying a lot of stages just for fun. I see this game joining the ranks of Mario 3 and still being played a decade from now, unless Nintendo obsoletes it with a far better game.

"I would have regretted my purchase if not for the fact I picked it up for 30 dollars on sale" - you can't be serious. If you stopped halfway in the Luigi playthrough, you must have had around 50 hours of play time. Highest quality play time. If that doesn't justify buying a game for you, I don't know what would.

You see, it's an individual thing - I didn't finish all the bonus levels in NSMBWii yet cause I lost interest.

My "problem" (luxury problem!) with NSMBWii is its lack of atmosphere... I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about it is a bit too Mario-Party-esque. I don't remember Super Mario World being so goofy, with the overworld animations and cut scenes. I understand that Mario games shouldn't have much of a story, that's fine, but I wouldn't mind them building up a little more tension and excitement. Something Mario 3 and Mario World did better, cause they took themselves a bit more seriously.

Still, talking about a 95% game vs. a 100% game.
