Why do you keep buying 360s bro? I mean your first one has a dead dvd drive, your second one RRODed and you don't seem to be the least bit disgruntled.

When my 360 first RRODed (before Microsoft admitted it, and extended the warrenty) I said screw it and bought a PS3.

What sane person with 72 Xbox 360 games would not stay with Microsoft ?

And like I said, the new Jasper chipset 360s run cool. It costs just $200 to get an Arcade so as long as your old HDD still works. I can understand wanting to take a stand against MS on principle but hey, they've admitted that they dun fucked up. It happens. They did something about the problem. Sony is infamous for this (read sony "kill switch" thread) but does that mean you should avoid a Playstation 3, PSP or a Vaio or a Bravia or a Walkman or whatever if you really want one? No.

And while it's true that MS rushed out the 360, it may not be that it was their intention to screw over consumers. The Jasper chipset is much more energy-efficient. Back in late 2005/early 2006, if the 360 shipped out at launch with a chipset with the same energy efficient, the console would probably have been more expensive and they would have had to charge more than $400 for the Premium. And let's face it, while many would rather a quality-built console at some extra cost over a cheaply-made console, the average consumer cares a lot about price. Even if they'd probably save more money with the electricity bill savings and not having to buy a replacement console in the long run. Consumers for the most part are "present" oriented. They don't think about hidden costs.
