No, no, no. 1 pack-in demo that's arguably more sports than party, 1 party game that comes with a Wiimote, 3 party games, and then the rest of that list. The two top selling "party games" are having a lot of success thanks to their super low price points. I really don't see what's bad with having party games in your top 10. Party games are fun. They have PARTY in their name. Plus, they should still be fun and several (like RRB and WW) have better style and humor than a lot of nonparty games. They appeal to both hardcore and casual so it makes sense that they should sell well. However, simply because they're high up doesn't mean that's all there will eventually be. People need variety. Even if one of the three major fastfood burger places (McD's, Wendy's, and BK) were to take a commanding lead, neither of the other two would disappear because people don't want the same thing every time they need a fast burger. The same applies to games. |
That pack-in game sold 2.23 million units in a country where it's not a pack-in. Arguing Wii Sports isn't a success is stupid. It absolutely counts in successful Wii games. Wii Sports could be counted as a Sports game I suppose, but you have to count it.
Second, you have to count Wii Play. People paid $10 for that game, and whether you like it or not they bought it.
Third, you missed the sarcasm in my post. My point is that in the top 11 million sellers on the Wii there are 7 different genres. Obviously there is a lot of diversity in successful Wii games.
Also, I'm starting to agree with Montana that Wii fans and PS3 fans are a lot alike. You only count Wii Sports and Wii Play when it helps you win an argument, just like Dodece is doing. Show consistency in your posts or you lose your credibility.
