1. Haven't played mario kart extensively, but its really fun & has a very simpl track editior with which you can make complex things too. This is coming from someone who thought LBP's level creator was too time consuming/complex/boring

From what I can read it sounds very much like mario kart....  which is not a bad thing.

Glad the track editor is simple too, I agree with you that the LBP one was way too time consuming.

yeah the track editior is really good, they nailed the "create" in this game, the best thing is you get to "test" the track without even more loading screens (just while I mention loading, I'll tell you that the loading in the beta is HORRENDOUS in most places!!)

in LBP the play part was the best imo, here create really stands out.

I built a decent track, with hils, slopes, mini towns, lots of scenery, obstacles, power ups & so on in 14 minutes flat (it even tells you how ,long you took to build it ). Ofcourse its not masterpece, but for a first try I was impressed to see how easy it was to use, and they have many more months to add features & make it even more easier.

Some beta's nail down purchases for you (uncharted 2 beta), some beta's result in you not wanting to buy said games (MAG beta, Resistance 2 Beta)

This beta is definetely in the "nails down your purchase" category, your missing out :(

but there should be an open beta eventually!
