I think it's obvious, numbered Metal Gears are on the home consoles.

Also people trashing Kojima, what's your problem? He is the most gifted developer of his generation, allways pushing technology and new ideas, I have yet to play a single game in which he was involved that wouldn't become my instant fav.

I bought PSP Go month ago for the sole reason to play this new Metal Gear. When he said it's worthy the number 5, not a spin off and it continues the story, it's a fact so live with it. He can call it Bandana Dude 327 and it will still be a MGS number 5.

Pushing what technology and what new ideas? as far as the eye can see, he hasn't thought up anything innovative in the mgs series that wasn't present in other games before.  And yes his games are fun to play, I agree to that, but innovative? Please..

Also i call it stupid to put your next big project on a console with the highest piracy rate of the current and earlier generations. You honestly think that the majority of pirates on psp will suddenly grow a moral backbone and will buy the game legaly?

I'm not justifying his decision for developing it on the PSP, in some interview he said that he wanted to develop it on the PSP specificaly for the japanese audience, so more younger people could get familiar with the series. It's also cheaper and less time consuming, developing for the portable device. Yes, there is a huge piracy problem on the PSP, but I sincerly believe this game will make enough to atleast cover it's production cost.

Kojima as a developer and his innovation is a topic to discuss, we both have obviously different oppinions about this matter. I'm not an expert on console games in the older generations, but I can stand my ground when it comes to PC, I've been gaming since 1990 and when MGS 1 come out, I was blown away. I might be mistaken, but wasn't metal gear series the one that invented stealth genre? But there is more, mantis fight, interactive storytelling, movie presentation... much much more. I'm not saying that it's all Kojima's work and that he was the first to come up with everything, but there have to be something you'll agree with.

I agree to a that MGS did create the stealth genre on the consoles although i'm not sure if "thief" wasn't the first actual stealth game ever created. I do agree that the first game was innovative, i'm argueing that he hasn't really shown anything since as mgs2,3 and 4 are just rehashed versions of the original with better graphics and extras that could be found in other games as well.

Sure those games had extras of their own like hiding on boxes, camoflauge , eating to regain stamina etc. but i honestly don't see it to be vital for the overall gameplay. In MGS3 i never used camo and got by just fine, in mgs2 i only used boxes and lockes as hiding places if the game needed me to but not because i felt that i had to in order to finish the game. MGS4 and the invisibility camo is a straight nocl-off from crysis as i see it ;P.

but then again i might be just some gaming genius and have a crappy point of view because of it.

You know which devs to me are innovative? For instance Quantum dreams as they are basicaly doing something that wasn't really done before, same with Nintendo and Miyamoto, even if we don't like the games the wii mote and some of the wii series games are absolutely fanstastic.

So i'm really waiting to see if devs have anything special for wii motion + or Natal as that could be a total rejuvanation of gaming as we know it.

Happy Wii60 user. Me and my family are a perfect example of where hardcore meets casual and together mutate into something awesome.
