They have a $1.288bil profit of that $1.224bil is money they got not from their products but from a lawsuit. So without the lawsuit they'd be at $0.064 billion, or$ 64 million, profit. I sure hope they find someone else to sue for the next quarter then.

On the other hand, Intel's practices have been harming AMD's profits for a long while, and I'm not sure this $1.224 billion even covers all the damages... Intel has succeeded in making the AMD brand smaller, so it's a continuous impact.

 

I'm very well aware. I was just saying though, this quarter wouldn't be the best to be happy about at all, now if they make good profits the following quarter then hooray.
